A Very good story, since 1967
Valle Spluga SpA began its journey at the end of the 1960s in Gordona, in northern Italy, nested in a valley surrounded by mountains with alpine air and fresh, pristine water. During the ’70s the company began taking the first steps towards its affirmation as the national leading brand in the Galletto production. Valle Spluga has carried out an expansion of the production plant in Gordona by expanding the areas dedicated to the processing of Galletto. It therefore obtained the prestigious BRC-IFS international quality certification, in addition to the HALAL certification, which are essential today for competing on the Italian market and for conquering foreign markets. In terms of image, the company has carried out an important brand restyling process, emphasizing its link with the territory, the Italian Alps, and with good food. The company has also returned to communication with large TV and digital campaigns on the main national platforms.
The production chain
Valle Spluga controls all the production steps thanks to a proprietary supply chain. The good practices developed in over 50 years of experience allow us to obtain a high-end poultry product: the Galletto Vallespluga. The history of the Galletto Vallespluga begins in our breeding farms in Valchiavenna. Here the laying hens lay their eggs, which are gently transported to the hatchery, immersed in the green hills of Piacenza, where the chicks will see the light.
The newborn chicks are transported to the Galletto farms, which are located close to the Alps. In a context of low animal density, they can scratch on the ground in large spaces. They are fed with vegetable feed based on corn, soy and wheat, with water and mountain air. The high level of biosecurity makes it possible to avoid the use of antibiotics. The production cycle of Valle Spluga – sustainable and with the utmost respect for the environment – ends in the historic plant in Gordona (Sondrio). This is where our fleet of refrigerated trucks starts and distributes the Galletto Vallespluga throughout Italy.
